1. Your personal-use licence
Unless a product listing expressly provides a different licence, a purchase grants the buyer a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased design for one personal celebration or personal project. You may edit the supported elements in your own Canva copy, export finished files and print as many copies as you reasonably need for that event or project.
You may share finished invitations or other finished event materials with your guests. You may give the finished export to a printer, or allow a planner to help prepare your event, only to fulfil your permitted personal use and without giving them independent reuse or resale rights.
2. What is not included
You may not resell, sublicense, give away or publicly share the template, its Canva access link, delivery PDF or editable source. Do not upload them to a template library, marketplace, shared drive for general reuse, print-on-demand catalogue or competing service.
Do not extract and redistribute fonts, illustrations, photographs or other individual assets. The standard licence does not permit creating products for resale, client template services or using the design for multiple unrelated clients or events. Ask contact@helenavoile.com before buying if you need broader rights; these are granted only through a separate express agreement.
3. Design ownership & your content
We and our licensors retain the rights in the original design and its included assets. Buying a template does not transfer copyright or ownership of third-party assets. You retain any rights you hold in your own text and images. Use only content you have permission to upload and respect the privacy of people shown or named.
Canva content remains subject to Canva’s own licence terms. This licence cannot grant rights that we do not hold or override any restrictions attached to third-party content.
4. Working in Canva
A Canva account, an internet connection and a compatible, current web browser or Canva app are needed to edit the templates. A PDF reader is needed to open the delivery file. Canva operates separately from Helena Voile and has its own terms, content licences and privacy policy.
Check the listing for editable fields, dimensions and any Canva Pro requirements. A free Canva account is sufficient only where the listing expressly says so. Paid Canva features, stock content, printing or subscriptions are not included in our price unless expressly stated. We are an independent seller and are not endorsed by Canva.
5. Your consumer rights
This licence does not reduce mandatory consumer rights. If the supplied content cannot lawfully be used as advertised, contact us under our refund policy. Material licence misuse may lead us to stop further unauthorised access, subject to applicable law; it does not remove legitimate remedies for a defective product.
